Enforcing Strict Allowance Limits in Vacation Policies in Simployer One

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 2:22 PM

What does Strict Allowance Limit do?

Strict Allowance Limit is a setting on a Vacation Policy in Simployer One. When enabled, it stops employees from submitting a leave request that exceeds their current accrued vacation allowance.

If an employee tries to request more vacation than they have accrued, Simployer One blocks the request and shows a notification explaining that the request exceeds their available balance.

Note: This setting applies at the Vacation Policy level, so it only affects employees assigned to a policy where it's turned on.

How do I enable Strict Allowance Limit on a vacation policy?

  1. Go to Settings > Time Off Settings > Vacation.
  2. Open the relevant Vacation Policy.
  3. Toggle on Strict Allowance Limit.
  4. Click Save.

Once saved, the policy enforces the limit for any new leave requests submitted under it.

Why use Strict Allowance Limit?

Enabling this setting helps you:

  • Keep vacation requests within employees' earned entitlements
  • Prevent overbooking of leave
  • Simplify leave tracking for HR and payroll
