How to unarchive an employee in Simployer One

Owners and Administrators can unarchive employees in Simployer One.

When you unarchive an employee, the employee is reactivated immediately. What happens to an existing offboarding depends on whether the offboarding date has passed.

Before you unarchive an employee

Before proceeding, review the employee's offboarding information carefully.

Depending on how the offboarding was configured, you may see:

  • End date

  • Offboarding date

  • Delete date

  • Anonymize date

Important: If employee data has already been anonymized or deleted, unarchiving cannot restore that data.

Find an archived employee

  1. Go to Employees in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the Archived tab.

  3. Select the employee to open their profile.

Unarchive an employee

  1. Open the archived employee's profile.

  2. Go to Account.

  3. Review the unarchive details.

  4. Check what will happen to the employee's offboarding:

    • If the offboarding date has already passed, unarchiving will revert the completed offboarding.

    • If the offboarding date is in the future, unarchiving will cancel the offboarding.

  5. Select Unarchive.

The employee is reactivated immediately and no longer appears under archived employees.

What happens to offboarding workflows when I unarchive an employee?

Workflows connected to the employee's offboarding are not removed automatically.

After unarchiving the employee:

  1. Go to Company Settings → Active Workflows.

  2. Find the workflows connected to the offboarding.

  3. Remove them manually.

Important: Unarchiving the employee does not automatically remove workflows linked to the offboarding.

Will an unarchived employee receive a new invitation email?

No. No new invitation or email is sent when an employee is unarchived.

The employee keeps the same login credentials they had before they were archived and does not need to create a new password.

What information is shown when I unarchive an employee?

The information shown depends on how the employee's offboarding was configured.

For example, Delete date and Anonymize date are only shown if those actions were configured during offboarding.

Tip: Check the delete date and anonymize date before unarchiving the employee.

Tip: After unarchiving, verify that the employee's profile, access, and assignments are correct before they log back in.
