How is the pay gap calculated?

Modified on Tue, 11 Feb at 11:56 AM

The pay gap is calculated as a percentage value, using the formula:(averageMaleSalaries - averageFemaleSalaries) / averageMaleSalaries * 100)It is always calculated as an absolute value, so the minimum is 0 and it has no upper bounds (can reach hundreds). If pay gap is higher than 5%, then thumbs are red & down. Anything below 5% is marked as a green thumb-up.
