Working with goals is a great way of keeping your employees engaged and aligned. Goals in Simployer One allows you to set and connect company, team and individual goals and make sure that all teams work in the same direction. Reduce silos and improve collaboration between employees, teams, or departments.
Our Goals-module gives you the flexibility and option to work with different frameworks e.g. OKRs, SMART goals or any other models you might already be using. These goals or key objectives can be set up on a company, team or individual level, whichever you see fit with your company mission.
Overview

To navigate to Goals, if included in your current package, you will find it on the navigation menu on your left.
Here you will have an overview of all past, ongoing and upcoming goals, both on a company-level and your own. Navigate between the two different views with the tabs “Company” (all public goals) and “My Goals” (all goals where you are either the Lead, a Collaborator or the Creator).
The overview also allows you to update your goals and subgoals with their current status as well as creating new ones. The different status available are:
Not started - Goal is not yet started (this is always set as default)
In progress - If the goal is in progress and being worked on
Road block - If something is blocking the progress of the goal
Paused - If the goal is currently on pause
Achieved - Our target value is achieved
Dropped - The goal is no longer active without completion
Archived - The goal has been archived and is no longer active
There is a toggle to show all your archived goals. A goal is automatically archived when it receives the status Achieved, Dropped or Archived.
Everyone in Simployer One can create goals however Owners and Admins can edit and update all goals while everyone else can edit only their own created ones.
How to set up a Goal and Sub-goal

Click on + Add goal to add a new goal. You can either choose to create your new goal straight from the popup or by clicking on “Open page view” for a full-page creator mode.
The settings available when creating your goals are:
Goal: Name your goal, e.g. “Increase number of customer reviews to 150”
Description: Add a brief but clear description to make sure everyone understand what the purpose of this goal is.
Parent goal: If this is to be a sub-goal, you can connect it to the parent goal here. If not, you can leave this field empty.
Lead: Assign your lead for the specific goal or sub-goal. You can only assign one lead per goal or sub-goal. This person is in charge to lead and engage all collaborators to fulfill this goal, e.g. the HR Manager for all goals related to employee engagement or an employee acting as a lead for goals related to their own performance.
Collaborators: Assign your collaborators for this goal, this can be either individual employees, team(s), departments, offices or even a combination of these. These individuals are the relevant people involved to fulfill this achievement.
Cycle: Choose the time frame for your goal. You can choose from one of our predefined options, e.g. Q1, H2 or the year.
Due dates: Between what dates is the goal active.
Quantifying value: Here you can choose what value you want to define and measure your goal in. The current options are: Currency (in EUR only), Binary (Not done/Done), Number or Percentage.
Progress metrics: Add your metrics according to the value chosen in the previous step. These are values to help you track progress as you’re working towards your target. When you update the metrics, for example the “Current value”, your progress bar will automatically sync.
Initial value: Your starting point, e.g. 50 customer reviews
Current value: Your current point and to be updated regularly to register the progress, e.g. 79 customer reviews
Target value: Your aim to be at, e.g. 120 customer reviews
Update: If you for example have subgoals attached, you can choose to update the progress bar either automatically as each subgoal is completed or manually by updating the current value in the progress metrics.
Toggle the privacy mode on if you wish to make the goal visible to only the lead and the collaborators.
Click “Save goal” to create one with the chosen settings. You can always access current goals and make edits by clicking on the specific one.
