If your company uses more than one Fortnox company account—for example, if you have multiple legal entities—you can connect all of them to your single Simployer HRM (Alexis) account. This allows you to manage employee data centrally while ensuring each employee syncs with the correct Fortnox company.
This guide explains:
- How the integration works
- How to set up multiple Fortnox integrations
- How to import employees from Fortnox
- How to export employee data to Fortnox
How the integration works
- You can add multiple Fortnox integrations in Simployer HRM
- Each integration links to a separate Fortnox company account
- When importing or exporting employee data, you choose which integration to use
- Employees are assigned to specific integrations using **scopes**, so they always sync with the correct Fortnox company
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure:
- You have valid logins for each Fortnox company you want to connect
- You have admin access in Simployer HRM to manage integrations
- Employee profiles in Simployer and Fortnox are prepared with matching employee numbers for correct mapping
1. Add multiple Fortnox integrations in Simployer HRM
You’ll create one integration per Fortnox company account
- Log in to Simployer HRM.
- Go to Integrations
- Click Add integration and select Fortnox
- Follow the prompts to log in to your Fortnox company account and authorize the connection
- Name the integration clearly (e.g. “Fortnox - Sweden AB”)
- Repeat these steps for each Fortnox company you need to connect
Tip: Choose meaningful integration names to make it easy to pick the right one later.
2. Assign employees to the correct integration scope
After adding multiple Fortnox integrations, you need to assign each employee to the correct integration scope.
- In Simployer HRM, go to Integrations
- Select the integration you want to configure
- Click Edit scope
- Choose which employees should sync with this Fortnox company
Only employees in a given scope will appear when you import or export for that integration.
This prevents data from going to the wrong Fortnox company.
3. Import employees from Fortnox to Simployer
Once your employees exist in Fortnox with matching IDs, you can import them into Simployer HRM.
- In Simployer HRM, go to Integrations
- Select the Fortnox integration you want to use
- Find employees listed under New
- Match them to existing Simployer employee records (if necessary)
- Click Import
Imported employees will appear under the **Imported** tab for that integration.
Each integration only shows employees in its scope.
4. Export employee updates to Fortnox
After making updates in Simployer (e.g. changing address, contact details, or other synced fields), you can push those changes back to Fortnox.
- In Simployer HRM, go to Integrations
- Select the integration for the employee’s Fortnox company
- Find the employee you want to export
- Click Export
Changes will update in the corresponding Fortnox company account.
Only employees in the selected scope will be available for export.
Key points to remember
- Each Fortnox integration is linked to a separate company account
- Employees must be assigned to the correct integration scope in Simployer HRM
- Employee numbers in Simployer must match Employment IDs in Fortnox
- You manage import and export separately for each integration
