What can I use Competence for?

Competence helps your organization identify, assess, and develop employee skills and certificates. Owners and administrators maintain the competence framework, managers assess competences, and employees keep their own competence information up to date.

How do I access Competence?

Go to Menu → Performance → Competence.

Note: Some training videos show the previous menu structure. Competence is now located under Performance. If you cannot find the feature, use the search bar below your organization's logo.

How do I plan the competence framework?

  • Identify the skills and certificates your organization needs.
  • Use clear and consistent names and descriptions.
  • Decide which competences are required for everyone or only selected teams, departments, or offices.
  • Agree who assesses skills, verifies certificates, and reviews competence coverage.

Tip: Start with a small set of business-critical competences before expanding the framework.

How do I create a competence?

  1. Open Menu → Performance → Competence.
  2. Open the Competence Library.
  3. Select New competence.
  4. Choose Skill or Certificate.
  5. Enter a name and description.
  6. Select the requirement scope.
  7. Save the competence.

How do managers add or update employee competences?

  1. Open the employee profile.
  2. Open Competence.
  3. Add or update skills and proficiency levels.
  4. Add or update certificates.
  5. For certificates, upload proof and set an expiration date if applicable.

Note: Managers receive email notifications when required skills need assessment and when employees upload certificate documentation.

How do employees update their competences?

  1. Go to My profile → Competence.
  2. Review your skills and certificates.
  3. Upload proof documents when required.
  4. Enter expiration dates for certificates.
  5. Save your changes.
