The Engagement model contains the standard engagement framework and 29 questions. You schedule the Engagement model from Employee surveys > Schedule > then select the Engagement Radar tab. Engagement Radar can be scheduled as either a continuous measurement or a baseline measurement.
Who can schedule and stop the Engagement model from Engagement Radar?
Only users with the Administrator role in Employee surveys can schedule and stop the Engagement model from the Engagement Radar tab.
When should I use baseline or continuous Engagement model measurement?
Use baseline or continuous Engagement model measurement when you want a ready-made engagement measurement based on the standard Engagement model.
The Engagement model gives you:
- An engagement overview across the organization
- One KPI for overall engagement
- One KPI for each engagement driver
- An eNPS score/KPI
- Trend tracking over time
- Minimal administration after the model is started
Tip: Use baseline or continuous Engagement model measurement when you want a ready-made engagement survey based on the standard Engagement model.
How do I choose between continuous and baseline Engagement model measurement?
Go to Employee surveys > Schedule > then select the Engagement Radar tab to choose whether to run the Engagement model as a continuous measurement or schedule a baseline measurement.
- Continuous measurement: Sends the 29 Engagement model questions over 4 rounds. The first round includes 8 questions, and the next 3 rounds include 7 questions each. The cycle repeats until you manually stop it.
- Baseline measurement: Sends all 29 Engagement model questions at once without repetition. Use a baseline measurement to establish a starting point for engagement levels in the organization.
To read about the standard Engagement model, its 7 drivers, and the 29 included questions, go to Employee surveys > Questions > then select the Engagement model tab. Select a driver to read more about it and see which questions are included. Click a question to preview it.
How do I run the Engagement model as a continuous measurement?
Run the Engagement model as a continuous measurement when you want Employee surveys to send Engagement model questions continuously over time.
- Go to Employee surveys > Schedule.
- Open the Engagement Radar tab.
- In Continuous measurement, click Run the model.
- Turn on Advanced at the top of the page.
- In Recipient, select the recipient Group.
- In Frequency, select Weekly, Biweekly, or Monthly.
- In Date, note that the dates cannot be changed for this scheduling. The continuous measurement starts shortly after you click Start and closes on the upcoming Sunday.
- In the Results visibility box, turn on Advanced and set result visibility for the scheduling.
- Click Start.
Important: You cannot choose an exact send-out date when you run the Engagement model as a continuous measurement. After you click Start, the measurement starts shortly after activation. Each following round is sent on Monday at 10:00 AM according to the interval you selected.
Final results are sent on the Monday after each round of questions has closed. Each round closes on the upcoming Sunday at 23:59.
How do I schedule a baseline measurement in Employee surveys?
Schedule a baseline measurement when you want Employee surveys to send all 29 Engagement model questions at once.
- Go to Employee surveys > Schedule.
- Open the Engagement Radar tab.
- In Baseline measurement, click Schedule measurement.
- Turn on Advanced at the top of the page.
- In Recipient, select the recipient Group.
- Under Date, choose the date and time when the baseline measurement should open in Open questions on.
- Choose when the baseline measurement should close in Close questions on.
- In the Results visibility box, turn on Advanced and set result visibility for the scheduling.
- Click Start.
How do I choose date settings for a baseline measurement?
Date settings only apply when you schedule a baseline measurement. When you run the Engagement model as a continuous measurement, you cannot choose or change the send-out date.
In Date, choose when the baseline measurement questions should open and close. Select the Open questions on date and time first.
Baseline measurements close by default on the upcoming Sunday at 23:59. To choose a different closing date and time, turn on Advanced and select the Close questions on date and time.
The Close questions on date and time controls when employees can no longer answer the baseline measurement. A baseline measurement can be open until a maximum of the second upcoming Sunday from the date set under Open questions on. If you open the baseline measurement on a Monday, it can stay open for 2 weeks. If you open the baseline measurement on a Wednesday, it can stay open for about 1 and a half weeks, because the limit is still the second upcoming Sunday.
Note: Results are generated on Monday mornings. You can close the baseline measurement on another weekday, such as Wednesday, but result reporting is still available the next Monday.
How do I select recipient groups for the Engagement model?
Select the recipients that should receive the Engagement model questions. If you select a parent group, the questions are sent to all members in that group structure, including direct members of the parent group and indirect members from subgroups.
Important: Do not use Select everyone when scheduling from Engagement Radar. Select the relevant groups instead.
Select a parent group when you want to see an aggregated result for several groups. If you do not want to include all subgroups, select the parent group first and then clear the subgroups one by one. If you do not want an aggregated result, select the separate groups instead.
Important: There is no limit to how many groups you can select. However, results may be hidden by the integrity framework if selected groups are almost identical. There must be a difference of at least 3 responses between the groups for results to be displayed.
How do I set result visibility for Engagement model measurements?
In the result visibility step, turn on Advanced in the Results visibility box. Then choose who can see results and comments for the Engagement model measurement.
Note: Administrators in Employee surveys always have access to all results and comments. Their access is not controlled by the Results visibility settings.
- Group members: Users who answer the questions
- Group owners: Managers who are owners of the group
- Results: Gives access to results for that group
- Comments: Gives access to all submitted comments within the targeted groups
When Advanced is turned on, you can change result visibility settings. Use the question mark icons next to Group members and Group owners in Employee surveys to read examples.
Note: In Results visibility, Their own group depends on the user's group role. For Group members, it means the group they are a member of. For Group owners, it means the group they own. If a user is both a group member and a group owner, both visibility rules can apply.
Important: If you want users or managers to see comments, comments must also be enabled under Account > Company Settings tab > then got o Results integrity section. If comments are disabled there, users and managers cannot see comments even if Comments is selected in Results visibility when scheduling.
When are Engagement model result emails sent?
Result emails are sent on the Monday after the measurement has closed.
To choose who receives result emails, see How do I configure result emails in Employee Surveys?
How do I stop continuous Engagement model measurement?
To stop continuous Engagement model measurement, go to Employee surveys > Schedule > then select the Engagement Radar tab and click Stop in Continuous measurement.
Tip: It can be a good idea to stop continuous Engagement model measurement during holidays or other periods when you do not want questions to be sent out.
Important: Only stop continuous Engagement model measurement between question rounds. If you stop the model while a round is live, the results for that round are removed.
How do I edit groups or frequency for continuous Engagement model measurement?

- Go to Employee surveys > Schedule.
- Open the Engagement Radar tab.
- In Continuous measurement, click Stop if the model is active.
- Click Activate.
- In the dialog, click Edit settings.

- Open the Engagement Radar tab.
- In the Continuous measurement section, find the relevant measurement in the History list.
- Click the pen icon for the measurement.
- Update who can see Results or Comments.
- Click Save.

How do I edit or remove a baseline measurement?
- Go to Employee surveys > Schedule.
- Open the Engagement Radar tab.
- Open the Baseline measurement section.
- Find the baseline measurement scheduling you want to edit or remove.
- Click the three dots to the right of the scheduling.

Note: You can only change Close questions on while the baseline measurement scheduling is still live. The maximum open period still applies: a baseline measurement can stay open until the second upcoming Sunday from the date set under Open questions on. If the scheduling already uses the maximum period, you cannot extend it by another week.
Important: If you delete a past or ongoing baseline measurement scheduling, the results for that scheduling are permanently deleted. This cannot be restored. If you change an ongoing baseline measurement scheduling, the change affects the current state and can affect results.
