Creating an Equal Pay survey in Simployer One

How do I start a new Equal Pay survey?

To create a new Equal Pay survey:

  1. Navigate to **Compensation → Equal pay**.
  2. Under **Ongoing surveys**, select **Start new survey** or click the **+** button.
  3. Enter a **survey name**.
  4. Choose whether to start from scratch or reuse information from a previous survey.
  5. Continue to the next step to add employee data.

How do I reuse information from a previous survey?

Reusing information can save time when creating a new Equal Pay survey.

  1. Select **Reuse information from a previous survey**.
  2. Choose the survey from the **Select survey** list.
  3. Select what you want to reuse.

You can reuse:

  • Grouping of jobs
  • Criteria & questions
  • Job evaluation

Note: Employee data is not reused. Before each survey, update your employee data by removing employees who have left, adding new employees, and updating salaries before importing.

Which employees should be included?

Include all employees with an employment in the company. The main exception is employees whose salary is determined outside the normal salary-setting process, for example a CEO whose salary is set by the board.

How should salary information be prepared?

Before importing employee data:

  • Register all salaries as full-time equivalent salaries, regardless of the employee's employment percentage.
  • Use a single currency throughout the survey. Equal Pay treats all salary values as the same currency and cannot distinguish between SEK, NOK or EUR.
  • Review salary data to ensure it is current before each import.

How do I import employee data?

After creating the survey, continue to the **Employees** step and import your employee data.

Note: A survey is limited to one country (Sweden or Norway). When importing directly from Simployer One, all employees in the selected country are imported. If you need separate surveys for different legal employers or organisational units, prepare separate Excel files and import them manually.

What should I do if the employee import fails?

If you receive an error during import:

  • Use the import template available in the Equal Pay module FAQ.
  • Verify that all required columns are completed correctly.
  • Check that the data matches the import specifications before importing again.
