Permissions in Goals

Who can create, edit, and view Goals in Simployer One?


Simployer One uses different permissions depending on whether a goal is public or private. 


Understanding these permissions helps ensure goals are shared with the correct people while protecting confidential objectives. 



Who can create goals?


Every employee can create company goals.

There is no Owner or Admin restriction for creating goals. 

 


Who can edit public goals?


Owners and Admins can edit every public goal. 

Other employees can edit only goals they created themselves. 



Who can view public goals?


All employees can view public goals from the Company tab. 



How do private goals work?


When Keep this goal private is enabled: 

  • The creator can view and edit the goal.  
  • The goal lead can view the goal.  
  • Collaborators can view the goal.  
  • Owners cannot view it.  
  • Admins cannot view it.  
  • Other employees cannot view it.  


Only the creator can edit a private goal. 



Who can edit private goals?


Only the creator.

Neither Owners nor Admins can edit another user's private goal. 

 


FAQs


Can an Owner edit every goal? 

Only public goals. 


Can an Admin see private goals? 

No. 


Can collaborators edit private goals? 

No. 


Can the goal lead edit a private goal? 

No, unless they are also the creator. 


Can I change a goal from public to private? 

Yes. Enable Keep this goal private when editing the goal.
