What are Goals in Simployer One?
Goals in Simployer One help individuals and teams define measurable objectives, monitor progress, and stay aligned with company priorities. Goals can be used for company-wide initiatives, departmental objectives, team achievements, or personal development.
Every employee can create goals, collaborate with others, and track progress throughout the goal's lifecycle.
Where can I find Goals?
Navigate to Performance → Goals.
The Goals page contains two tabs:
Company
The Company tab displays all public goals within your organization.
This view helps employees understand company priorities and see how different goals contribute to larger objectives.
My Goals
The My Goals tab displays every goal where you are:
- The creator
- The goal lead
- A collaborator
It also includes any private goals that you have created or participate in.
What information does a goal contain?
Each goal contains information that helps define its purpose and measure progress.
A goal can include:
- Goal name
- Description
- Parent goal
- Goal lead
- Collaborators
- Goal cycle
- Active dates
- Progress metrics
- Status
- Visibility (public or private)
What are parent goals and sub-goals?
Goals can be organized into a hierarchy.
A parent goal represents a larger objective.
A sub-goal contributes to achieving the parent goal.
For example:
Parent goal
Increase employee engagement
Sub-goals
- Improve onboarding experience
- Increase participation in learning programs
- Launch quarterly engagement surveys
Using sub-goals makes larger objectives easier to manage and track.
What is the goal lead?
Each goal has one assigned Lead.
The lead is responsible for driving the goal forward and coordinating the work needed to achieve it.
Although collaborators contribute to the goal, the lead owns the overall progress.
Who can collaborate on a goal?
Goals can include one or more collaborators.
Collaborators can be:
- Individual employees
- Teams
- Departments
- Offices
You can also combine multiple collaborator types within the same goal.
How is goal progress measured?
Every goal includes a progress measurement.
You can measure progress using one of the following values:
- Currency (EUR)
- Binary (Not done / Done)
- Number
- Percentage
Progress is updated by changing the Current value, which automatically updates the progress bar.
If the goal contains sub-goals, progress can also be updated automatically as sub-goals are completed.
What goal cycles are available?
Each goal belongs to a predefined cycle.
Available cycles are:
Whole year
- H1 (January–June)
- H2 (July–December)
- Q1 (January–March)
- Q2 (April–June)
- Q3 (July–September)
- Q4 (October–December)
The selected cycle helps organize goals within a reporting period.
What statuses can a goal have?
A goal can have one of the following statuses:
| Status | Description |
| Not started | The goal has not yet begun. |
| In progress | Work on the goal is ongoing. |

| Paused | Work has been temporarily stopped. |

| Dropped | The goal has been discontinued before completion. |

Goals are public by default.
When Keep this goal private is enabled:
