You can copy an existing pulse survey in Employee surveys and then update its picture, title, description, questions, KPI settings, owners, and sharing settings. Use this when you want to reuse a pulse survey without building it from scratch. Baseline and continuous Engagement model measurements cannot be copied.
Who can copy and edit pulse surveys in Employee surveys?
Users with the Administrator or Manager role in Employee surveys can copy and edit pulse surveys.
How do I copy an existing pulse survey in Employee surveys?
To copy an existing pulse survey in Employee surveys, start from the Pulse library.
- Go to Employee surveys > Questions.
- Open the Pulse library tab.
- Open the pulse you want to copy.
- Click Save as Copy.
- In the copy dialog, choose how to copy the questions. Leave Add questions as a copy unchecked to keep the original questions and keep existing internal and external benchmarks. Select Add questions as a copy if you want editable copies of the questions and accept that existing benchmarks will be removed.
After you copy the pulse survey, the copied pulse is available in the My Pulses section in the Pulse library.
Important: Baseline and continuous Engagement model measurements cannot be copied.
What is the difference between adding questions as they are and adding questions as copies?
When you click Save as Copy, Employee surveys asks whether the questions should be copied as original questions or as editable copies.
- Add questions as they are: Leave Add questions as a copy unchecked. The original questions are added to the copied pulse, and existing internal and external benchmarks are kept
- Add questions as copies: Select Add questions as a copy. The questions are added as editable copies, and existing benchmarks are removed
Important: Questions added as copies do not use the external benchmark, because Employee surveys treats copied questions as new questions. Keep questions as they are if you need the external benchmark for the original library question.
What is the external benchmark in Employee surveys?
The external benchmark lets you compare your own result for a question with results from other Simployer customers who use the same library question.
Employee surveys only shows an external benchmark when enough data exists. The benchmark is only available for numerical library questions and is based on results from the past 12 months.
Important: If you add a question as a copy, Employee surveys treats it as a new question. Copied questions do not use the external benchmark from the original library question.
How do I edit a copied pulse survey in Employee surveys?
After a copied pulse survey is available in the My Pulses section, you can edit it before use. All questions can be rearranged or deleted. Only questions added as copies can be edited.
- Go to Employee surveys > Questions.
- Open the Pulse library tab.
- Go to My Pulses section.
- Open the copied pulse survey.
