How do I use Time off in Simployer One?
Time off is where you manage vacation, sick leave, parental leave and other leave types in Simployer One. From the My Time off page, you can request leave, monitor your leave balances, follow the status of leave requests and review your time off in different views.
The Time off page has four tabs: My overview, Calendar, Gantt and Statistics. Each tab provides a different way to view and manage your leave information.

You can also select Show time off policies to view the leave policies assigned to your profile.
What can I do on the Time off page?
- Request vacation and other leave types.

- View leave in Calendar and Gantt views.

- View public holidays and company restricted dates.
- Open the leave policies assigned to your profile.

How do I view Time off policies?
Select Show time off policies to view the leave policies assigned to your profile. This gives you an overview of the leave policies that apply to you and helps you understand which leave types are available.
How do I use My overview in Time off?
My overview is the default tab when you open My Time off. It gives you a quick summary of your leave balances and recent Leave activity. You can also start a new time off request from this tab.
What leave balance information is shown in My overview?
The overview cards show your current leave balances. The balances displayed depend on the leave policies assigned to you.
- Spent vacation days
- Remaining paid vacation days
- Saved vacation days
- Remaining unpaid vacation days
Note
Employees with an Earned vacation policy may see additional balances, such as saved vacation days and remaining unpaid vacation days.
Note
If you have leave types with an allowance, their remaining balances are also shown here. Examples include Special Day, Caring for a sick child and Parental leave.
What is Leave activity in My overview?
- Upcoming leaves – Shows future leave requests and planned leave.
- Leave history – Shows your previous leave requests and processed leave records.
How do I request time off from My overview?
- Select Request time off.
- Select the leave type.
- Select the start and end dates.
- Complete any additional fields.
- Add a comment if needed.
- Submit the request.
After you submit the request, it appears in Leave activity and follows your company's approval workflow.
How do I use the Calendar in Time off?
- View your own leave.
- View colleagues' leave.
- View public holidays.
- View company restricted dates.
- Create a leave request by selecting a date.
Use the arrows next to the month and year to browse between months. Hover over an event to view additional details.
What do the Calendar colors mean in Time off?
- Your approved time off
- Your pending time off requests
- Pending revoke requests
- Colleagues' approved time off
- Colleagues' pending time off requests
- Public holidays
- Restricted dates
How do I filter the Calendar in Time off?
Select Filter to open the filter panel.
- Status
- Leave types
- Teams
- Departments
- Offices

- Employees
Select the values you want to display.
Note
All filter options are available. Whether you can view another employee's leave depends on whether Company visible is enabled for your company.
What happens if a time off request overlaps a restricted date?
If you submit a request that overlaps a restricted date, Simployer One displays a warning that the request overlaps with existing events. You can still submit the request.
How do I use the Gantt view in Time off?
The Gantt view displays employees' time off on a timeline. Switch between Year, Month and Week to compare leave across employees and identify overlapping leave. The Gantt view supports the same filters as the Calendar.
What can I see in Statistics in Time off?
The Statistics tab provides visual insights into your personal leave history and helps you analyze leave patterns over time.
How do I select a reporting period in Statistics?
Use the date fields to define the reporting period. You can analyze any custom date range from Beginning of time to a selected end date.
What trends can I view in Statistics?
- Remote work by day of week
- Absences by day of week
- Vacation by month
What is shown in Time Off Statistics?
- Type
- Days
- Occurrences
- Time period
How do time off approvals work in Simployer One?
- If an approver is displayed, the request is sent for approval.
- If no approver is displayed, the leave type is processed automatically.
- You receive a notification after the request has been reviewed.
