How do I request time off in Simployer One?

You can request vacation, sick leave, parental leave, and other leave types in Simployer One. The information you need to provide depends on the selected leave type and how your company's leave policies have been configured.

You can create a leave request from:

  • Manage time > My Time off
  • Calendar
  • Sia

How do I request time off from the Time off page?

  1. Go to Manage time > My Time off.
  2. Select Request time off.
  3. Select the Type of leave.
  4. Review the Leave usage information, if displayed.
  5. Select the From and To dates.
  6. Complete any additional fields that appear.
  7. Add a Description or Comment, if needed.
  8. Review the assigned Approver(s).
  9. Review any visibility information, if displayed.
  10. Resolve any validation messages or warnings.
  11. Select Send request.

Your leave request is submitted according to your company's approval workflow.

Note

Additional fields may appear depending on the selected leave type and how the leave policy has been configured.

How do I request time off from the Calendar?

  1. Go to Manage time > My Time off.
  2. Open the Calendar tab.
  3. Select the date you want your leave to start.
  4. Complete the leave request.
  5. Select Send request.

The leave request follows the same approval process as requests created from My overview.

How do I request time off using Sia?

You can use Sia to create a leave request without opening the Time off page.

Example: "Apply for vacation from 5 July to 30 July."

Sia guides you through the request and creates the leave request in Simployer One.

What does Leave usage mean?

Leave usage shows how much of the selected leave type you have already used during the current leave year.

  • You are entitled to the configured number of days for the selected leave type.
  • The section shows how many days have already been used.
  • The remaining balance updates automatically as leave requests are approved.

Note

The information displayed depends on the selected leave type.

What happens after I send a request?

  • The request appears in Leave activity.
  • The request is shown as Pending or Approved, depending on your company's approval settings.
  • The leave appears in the Calendar.
  • If approval is not required, the request is approved automatically.
  • If approval is required, the approver receives a notification through the configured notification channels, such as email, Slack, or Teams.

What validation messages can I see?

Restricted dates

If your request overlaps a restricted date, Simployer One displays a warning. You can still submit the request.

Insufficient balance

If the leave policy has Strict allowance limit enabled, you cannot request more leave than your available allowance.

Overlapping leave

If the requested dates overlap with another leave request, Simployer One displays a warning so you can review the dates before sending the request.
