How to Handle Digital Sick Notes in Simployer Classic

Modified on Mon, 31 Mar at 8:30 AM

Norwegian Digital sick notes are transferred from Altinn to Simployer and are fetched once per hour. Only sick notes that are located in the Altinn inbox are transferred to Simployer. To ensure a match between Altinn and Simployer, the employee must have their national identification number registered on their employee profile, and the department must have an organization number registered under "My Company".

You can find the sick notes under Sick Leave – My Employees.

Here, you'll see that the source is listed as "Altinn" for those that have been imported into Simployer via Altinn. You can search for sick notes with different statuses using the Status field.

If there is an ongoing sick leave registered in Simployer, the sick note will automatically be linked to this ongoing leave, and the manager will receive a notification when this happens. In such cases, no action is required unless there is an error.

To process a sick note, click on the Options button and select Process.

This will present different options depending on what kind of sick leave is already registered for the employee.

Ongoing or Initiated Sick Leave

If the employee has a previous sick leave that has been closed, you will receive a message indicating this. You can choose to reopen the previous sick leave if desired, or start a new one. Select the appropriate option based on the sick note:

New Sick Leave

Select the appropriate option for the sick note. If there is no active sick leave initiated in Simployer, you can start one directly from the sick note, and it will automatically be added to the employee’s timeline (sick leave follow-up).
