Enforcing strict allowance limits in Vacation Policies – Simployer One

Modified on Fri, 27 Jun at 12:49 PM

Simployer One allows administrators to enforce a Strict Allowance Limit on vacation policies to prevent employees from requesting more vacation than they have accrued.

How it works

When Strict Allowance Limit is enabled in a Vacation Policy:

  • Employees cannot submit a leave request that exceeds their current accrued allowance.
  • If they attempt to do so, the system will block the request and display a notification explaining that the request exceeds the available balance.

How to enable the setting

  1. Go to Setting → Time Off Settings → Vacation
  2. Open the relevant Vacation Policy.
  3. Toggle on Strict Allowance Limit.
  4. Save the policy settings.

Use Case

This setting is especially useful for maintaining control over leave usage and ensuring that vacation requests stay within earned entitlements. It also helps prevent overbooking and simplifies leave tracking for both HR and payroll.
