Creating Allowances on Custom Leave Types in Simployer One

Modified on Fri, 27 Jun at 12:49 PM

Simployer One supports custom leave types, offering flexibility for organizations to define leave categories that meet specific internal needs—such as study leave, wellness leave, or special absence types. These custom leave types can include an allowance, allowing administrators to control how many days employees may take per year.

1. Access Custom Leave settings

To configure an allowance for a custom leave type:

  1. Select Settings → Time Off Settings.
  2. Choose Custom Leave Types.
  3. Select an existing policy or click Create Policy to define a new one.

2. Set allowance parameters

When creating or editing the custom leave policy:

  • Enable the Allowance functionality by selecting «include allowance». When selected, you can define:
    • Total Number of Days: The maximum number of leave days employees are entitled to within one cycle.
    • Annual Cycle Month: Select the month in which the allowance should renew each year.

This defines how many days employees receive annually, and when the allowance resets.

3. Enforce a Strict allowance limit (Optional)

You can choose to enable Strict Allowance Limit if you want to ensure employees cannot exceed the allocated number of days.

  • If enabled, employees will be blocked from submitting a leave request that exceeds their remaining allowance.
  • If left disabled, requests beyond the allowance will still be allowed, but tracked accordingly.
