What is the Heatmap in Employee Surveys?
The Heatmap in Employee Surveys helps you compare results across multiple groups in one view.
Use the Heatmap to review survey results, response rates, and KPIs across the groups you have permission to access.
The Heatmap is useful when you want to quickly identify differences between groups.
The colour scale helps you identify which groups have good results and which groups need attention.
The Heatmap displays all question results, KPIs, and response rates available for a specific week. If you have sent several pulses in the same week, all of them show in the Heatmap. You cannot select pulses sent in different weeks. To compare Heatmap results from different weeks, view each week separately.
How do I choose results in the Employee Surveys Heatmap?
To choose results in the Heatmap:
- Go to Employee Surveys > Results.
- Open the Heatmap tab.
- Under Group, choose from the drop-down list the group you want to view. You can only choose groups you have access to.
- Under Pulses, choose among weeks and pulses by clicking the circle for the pulse/week you want to view. If you have sent several pulses in the same week, all of them show. You cannot select pulses sent in different weeks. To compare Heatmap results from different weeks, view each week separately.
- Use Filter at the top right of the Heatmap page to choose what information to show, such as managers, response rate, or KPIs.
- Use the Questions filter to choose which questions to view.
- Use Group Levels to choose how many group levels to include, if you have access to more than one level.
- Under Filter, use Coloring to choose Relative or Absolute colouring.
How do I include subgroups in the Employee Surveys Heatmap?
To include subgroups in the Heatmap, open Filter and use Group Levels.
Group Levels is useful for large organizations with several group levels. You can select a specific set of levels to display at once.
The levels are based on the group structure in your account.
Note: You can only include subgroups that you have permission to access.
How do I read colours in the Employee Surveys Heatmap?
The Heatmap uses colours to make group comparisons easier. Under Filter, use Coloring to change between Relative and Absolute colouring.
For numeric questions, the colour scale goes from red to green. Red represents lower results, and green represents higher results.
For binary and non-numerical questions, the Heatmap uses shades of blue.
With absolute colouring, the scale uses 0 as the darkest red and 100 as the darkest green. For binary and non-numerical questions, the scale ranges from light blue to dark blue.
With relative colouring, the group with the lowest result gets the darkest red and the group with the highest result gets the darkest green. For binary and non-numerical questions, the scale ranges from light blue to dark blue.
Why are some Employee Surveys Heatmap results hidden?
Results with a shield icon are hidden to protect employee privacy and the integrity of the results.
Employee Surveys can hide Heatmap results when groups do not meet the limits set for Minimum number of responses required to show aggregated results. Employee Surveys administrators manage these settings.
Heatmap results may also be hidden by the integrity framework if groups are almost identical. There must be a difference of at least 3 responses between the groups for results to be displayed.
How do I export the Employee Surveys Heatmap?
You can export the Heatmap to Excel or open it in View full screen.
Use the export option in the bottom-right corner of the Heatmap. You can also use the View full screen option in the bottom-right corner.
Who can compare groups and export Heatmap results in Employee Surveys?
Administrators in Employee Surveys can compare groups and export Heatmap results for all groups in the account.
Managers in Employee Surveys can compare groups and export Heatmap results for groups they have access to when the scheduling Results visibility settings give them access to results.
