What can I see on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

The Employee Surveys Dashboard gives you an at-a-glance overview of the latest results that you have permission to view.

On the Employee Surveys Dashboard, you can view response rates, KPIs, question results, comments, and tools that help you gain insights and take action on results.

The Employee Surveys Dashboard shows results from the three latest surveys, or results from surveys scheduled during the latest 90 days.

The Employee Surveys Dashboard uses result indicators to give you a quick understanding of which results may need attention.

The new Employee Surveys Dashboard includes:

  • Response rate
  • Engagement score, if your company has run Engagement Radar as a baseline measurement or continuous measurement
  • eNPS score, if your company has used the eNPS question
  • KPIs
  • Alerts
  • News
  • Live and upcoming schedules

The old Employee Surveys Dashboard includes:

  • Engagement board, if your company has run Engagement Radar as a baseline measurement or continuous measurement
  • Insights
  • Actions
  • KPIs
  • Response rate
  • Alerts
  • News

How do I open the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

To open the Employee Surveys Dashboard:

  1. Go to Employee Surveys > Start > then select the Dashboard tab.
  2. Review the Dashboard page that opens.
  3. If the new Dashboard is active, it is the first page you see.

If the new Employee Surveys Dashboard is active, add groups first. After you have added groups, scroll down and select Go to old dashboard to open the old Dashboard. From the old Dashboard, select New dashboard design in the upper-left corner to go back to the new Dashboard.

Who can view groups on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

Administrators in Employee Surveys can view results for all groups in the account.

Managers and users in Employee Surveys can view results for groups they have access to when the scheduling Results visibility settings give them access to results.

How do I choose favourite groups on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

Favourite groups are available on the new Employee Surveys Dashboard only. You cannot choose favourite groups on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard.

On the old Employee Surveys Dashboard, use Group: Choose from the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the Dashboard to select a group you have access to.

For the new Employee Surveys Dashboard, favourite groups let you switch quickly between the groups you review most often.

You can choose up to five favourite groups. The groups available to you depend on your access in Employee Surveys and the scheduling Results visibility settings.

If this is your first time using the new Employee Surveys Dashboard and no groups have been added, click Add groups in the middle of the page.

To change favourite groups later, use the cogwheel in the upper-right corner of the Dashboard or the pen symbol next to the group.

How do I customise the new Employee Surveys Dashboard?

You can customise the new Employee Surveys Dashboard from the cogwheel in the upper-right corner of the Dashboard.

Use dashboard customisation to drag and drop dashboard areas into the order you want, or delete areas that are not relevant for your view.

Note: You cannot customise the old Employee Surveys Dashboard.

How do I view response rate on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

The response rate in Employee Surveys shows how many recipients have answered a survey.

To see more detailed response rate information for groups, go to Employee Surveys > Results > then select the Response rate tab.

On the old Employee Surveys Dashboard, you can also view the response rate for each question under Insights by clicking See benchmark on the desired question.

You can also view the response rate for each question under Employee Surveys > Results > then select the Individual Questions tab.

How do I view KPIs on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

The Employee Surveys Dashboard shows Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) when KPI results are available for the selected group.

A KPI in Employee Surveys is based on selected numerical questions within a pulse survey. The KPI score is calculated from the results of the questions included in that KPI.

Use KPIs on the Employee Surveys Dashboard to get a quick overview of the latest KPI results.

To view KPI trends over time, go to Employee Surveys > Results > then select the KPIs tab.

What engagement driver results can I see on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

If your company runs the standard Engagement model as a baseline measurement or continuous measurement, the Employee Surveys Dashboard shows an overall engagement score and a score for each engagement driver.

On the old Employee Surveys Dashboard, these results are shown under Engagement board. On the new Employee Surveys Dashboard, they are shown under Engagement score.

On the old Employee Surveys Dashboard, the results are presented in a radar. Each engagement driver has its own section. Hover over a green, gray, or red section to see the result for the group you are currently viewing. These colored sections show the driver results and should not be confused with the benchmark lines.

The lines in the radar show:

  • Blue line: External benchmark
  • Orange line: Internal benchmark

On the new Employee Surveys Dashboard, the overall engagement score appears in the circle on the left for the group you are currently viewing. Each engagement driver score appears in a radar table.

The purple line shows the current score. The black line on each result bar shows the previous score, if available.

An upward arrow before the comparison number means the score has increased since the previous result. A downward arrow means the score has decreased. A value of 0 means there has been no change.

To view results for the questions included in each engagement driver, use Insights on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard or go to Employee Surveys > Results > then select the Individual Questions tab.

Note: Results from other engagement pulses, such as Small Engagement diagnosis, Large Engagement diagnosis, and in-depth driver pulses, are not shown under Engagement board or Engagement score. These views show results from the standard Engagement model run as a baseline measurement or continuous measurement.

You can also view Engagement model results under Employee Surveys > Results > then select the Engagement drivers tab.

How do I read Pulse survey insights on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard?

Pulse survey insights are available only on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard under Insights. The Insights section shows question results from the latest Pulse survey.

For each question in Insights, click the available options to change between average, spread, and comments.

Question templates that are displayed in percentages do not show spread results, because the percentage itself indicates the spread.

Your company settings control whether and when you can view spread results and comments. Comments are also affected by the Results visibility settings selected when the survey is scheduled. Employee Surveys administrators manage these settings.

To include data points in Insights graphs, go to Account > then select the My settings tab and tick the Show Data Points checkbox. You can also hover over a point in a graph to see the exact number if Show Data Points is not enabled in your settings.

Click See benchmark next to the question results to compare the result with available benchmark data.

You can see benchmarks for question results and for the response rate connected to the questions in Insights.

External benchmarks are available when your organisation uses standard questions from Employee Surveys. The external benchmark is based on data from all customers that use the same question.

To make the external benchmark representative, Employee Surveys collects data from at least 1,000 answers and 20 different organisations. If a question in the Employee Surveys library does not meet these requirements, no external benchmark is available.

Internal benchmarks are available when your organisation uses tailor-made questions and the survey was sent to at least 40% of the users in the account.

The internal benchmark is the average result for the question within your organisation. If the question was sent to less than 40% of the users in the account, or if less than 40% of all users respond to the question, no internal benchmark is available.

Only numerical questions can produce a benchmark. The benchmark is an average value based on data collected during the past 12 months.

You can also view results for individual questions by going to Employee Surveys > Results > then select the Individual questions tab.

How do I understand spread results in Employee Surveys?

Spread results are available under Insights on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard. They are not shown on the new Employee Surveys Dashboard. You can still view spread results elsewhere in Employee Surveys by going to Employee surveys > Results > then select the Individual questions tab.

To see spread for a specific Employee Surveys question, click Spread on that question.

Spread results show how answers vary within a group or organisation while still keeping answers anonymised.

Use spread results to find outliers and patterns that may be important to act on.

Question templates that are displayed in percentages do not show spread results, because the percentage itself indicates the spread.

Note: Your company settings control whether and when you can view spread results. Employee Surveys administrators manage these settings.

How do I read comments on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard?

Comments are available under Insights on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard. They are not shown on the new Employee Surveys Dashboard. You can still view comments elsewhere in Employee Surveys by going to Employee surveys > Results > then select the Individual questions tab.

To read comments for a specific Employee Surveys question, click Comments on that question.

Comments show feedback for the question, if comments are available and visible to you. Comment visibility is controlled by company settings and by the scheduling Results visibility settings.

Tip: Go to Employee surveys > Results > then select the Individual questions tab to see whether a question has comments. The overview shows the number of comments for each question. In Insights on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard, the overview does not show whether comments are available, so you must open the question and click Comments to check.

How do I start suggested actions from the old Employee Surveys Dashboard?

Suggested actions are available only on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard under Insights.

Employee Surveys can suggest actions based on the topic of the question you are viewing.

If your company has created its own questions, those questions must have an action tag before Employee Surveys can show suggested actions. If no action tag is set, the suggested actions area is empty.

Actions are available for managers and employees. Actions marked Leader are visible only to Managers. Actions without a role tag are available to all employees.

To start a suggested action:

  1. Open the Insights section on the old Employee Surveys Dashboard.
  2. Select the question you want to find actions for.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Insights section.
  4. Review the suggested actions.
  5. Click Read more on an action to read more about it.
  6. Click Start Action to save it to Employee Surveys > Actions > Action Plan tab.
  7. To create your own action, click Create action.

When you have completed an action, go to Employee surveys > Results > then select the Action Plan tab and click Mark as complete.

Tip: Choose a small number of actions that your group can follow up on. Actions are labelled as small, medium, or large to indicate scope and effort.

How do I use alerts on the Employee Surveys Dashboard?

Alerts is a function in Employee Surveys that helps you find alarming results or outliers among survey answers.

Using Alerts makes it easier for you, as an administrator or manager, to focus on the most important Employee Surveys results and address possible problems early.

Certain topics, such as discrimination and well-being, are especially important to address early and work with proactively. When Employee Surveys identifies an alarming result or an outlying answer, you are notified with an Alert on the Dashboard.

You can find Alerts in the top-right corner of the Employee Surveys Dashboard.

Note: Results are always presented anonymously in Employee Surveys.

Administrators in Employee Surveys can view results for all groups in the account. Managers and users in Employee Surveys only see results for groups they have access to when the scheduling Results visibility settings give them access to results.
