Integrating Time Off Events with Your Own Calendar

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 10:24 AM

Overview

You can sync your own time off events in Simployer One with an external calendar app, such as Google Calendar. This means you don't need to check two separate calendars to see when you're off.

You can sync using one of two methods:

  • Downloading an .ICS (iCalendar) file
  • Copying a subscription URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

Note: This sync only includes your own time off events. It does not include time off for other employees.

How do I find the calendar sync option?

  1. Go to Time off > Integrate with calendar.
  2. Choose the option supported by your calendar app: the .ICS file or the URL.
  3. Add it in your calendar app's settings, following the steps for your calendar app.

How do I add the calendar to Google Calendar using an .ICS file?

  1. Go to Time off > Integrate with calendar.
  2. Download the .ICS file.
  3. In Google Calendar, click the + sign and select Import.
  4. Upload the file, select which calendar to import it to, and click Import.

Note: Importing the calendar via .ICS only syncs the events that exist at the time of import. It does not sync future time off events. To keep future events synced automatically, use the URL method instead.

Expected result: Your existing time off events appear in the selected Google Calendar.

How do I add the calendar to Google Calendar using a URL?

  1. Go to Time off > Integrate with calendar.
  2. Copy the URL.
  3. In Google Calendar, click the + sign and select From URL.
  4. Paste the URL.

Expected result: Your time off events, including future ones, sync automatically to Google Calendar.
