Why don't new employees in a department automatically get access to Travel and Expenses?

Modified on Wed, 7 Oct at 12:41 PM

Check whether the access settings for Travel and Expenses are overridden at the department level.

Cause

The main setting can be set to Yes, while the setting for a specific department is set to No. Settings at lower organizational levels override the main setting.

Solution

  1. Go to the system settings for Travel and Expenses.
  2. Confirm that the main setting is set to Yes.
  3. Select the relevant department in the Unit field at the top of the page.
  4. Check the following settings:
    • Give new persons access to the travel module
    • Give new persons access to the expense module
  5. If either setting is set to No, change the setting to Yes.

Result

New employees created in the selected department will automatically receive access to the Travel module, the Expenses module, or both, depending on the settings.

Note

Settings at the department level override the main setting.
