Learn which Travel and expenses settings control whether the tax-free amount or the full accommodation allowance is paid.
Why is only the tax-free accommodation allowance paid?
Simployer One pays only the tax-free portion of the accommodation allowance when the relevant overnight accommodation setting is set to Yes.
How do I enable the full accommodation allowance?
- Go to System settings → Travel and expenses.
- Find the setting for the accommodation type used in the travel expense claim:
- Tax-free amount only for guesthouse/hotel
- Tax-free amount only for guesthouse/caravan/site hut with cooking facilities
- Tax-free amount only for guesthouse/caravan/site hut without cooking facilities
- Check the current value:
- Yes – Only the tax-free amount is paid
- No – The full accommodation allowance is paid, with a portion treated as tax-free according to the applicable rules
- Change the relevant setting to No to pay the full accommodation allowance.
Note
The applicable setting depends on the accommodation type registered in the travel expense claim.
What happens after I change the accommodation setting?
New travel expense claims will calculate the full accommodation allowance according to the configured rules.
How do I configure the accommodation setting for one employee?
Settings configured under System settings → Travel and expenses apply to all employees.
Users with the Travel administrator role can configure the accommodation settings for an individual employee:
- Find the employee and go to Travel and expenses → Travel settings.
- Select the pencil icon next to Other settings to configure individual rules for the employee.
A System administrator can also configure these settings for an individual employee.
