How Reviews in Simployer One work

A quick intro to our take on the review process

Center stage of any successful review process is the conversation.

These conversations need to be happening frequently and should be consistently high quality, regardless of who is leading it.

This is why the conversation takes a central role in our solution. All reviews in Simployer One can take the following stages:

  1. Select reviewers (Manager, Acting Manager, Peer(s), Subordinate(s))
  2. Complete your review prep questions
  3. Share & read your feedback
  4. Discuss the feedback in a review meeting with your Manager or Acting Manager

It may seem strange to let people see their feedback before their review but it actually results in a much better discussion. By letting people digest their feedback in private first, their emotional response is out of the way and their discussion will go a lot smoother!

We highly recommend that teams follow this approach where the employee that are being reviewed share their feedback before a meeting but do understand that this is not how some organizations will want to use Reviews. Therefor it is possible to turn off prep questions.
