Create Formal Competency



Create New



Add a competency with or without an expiration date

  1. Give the competency a name

  2. Optionally, provide a more detailed description

  3. Select a competency category

  4. Choose an administrator for the competency

  5. Check "Employee can register" if you want employees to be able to register for this competency (this enables registrations from the course catalog to be visible to employee, manager, and admin)

  6. When the status is set to Active, the competency becomes visible and can be assigned to employees

  7. Check "Allow participant to change their own result for this activity" if employees should be able to record their own result

  8. Click Save


Validity Period

Only relevant and visible for competencies with an expiration date.

  • Set the validity period under Individual expiration dates

  • Reactivation period should typically be set to No deadline




People


Add People

  • Image 1 – Click Add People

  • Image 2 – Under "Add Person," you can choose to add individuals one by one or by group (by job title or department)



Page 3 – Add People

If you choose Add Person, you can search for one user at a time under Simple Search.

Under Advanced Search (see image), you can retrieve all "employees" and select multiple users at once.

  1. Select user

  2. Check one or more users

  3. Select status

  4. Choose start and end date

  5. Upload attachment – only one person at a time

    Note: The attachment is saved only under the individual competency, not in the employee’s document archive in Simployer

  6. Click Save
