How do I create and manage Analytics dashboards in Simployer One?
Analytics dashboards help you visualize workforce data using charts and key metrics. In addition to the predefined Overview dashboard, you can create your own dashboards with customized insight widgets that display the information most relevant to your role.
Custom dashboards are private, allowing you to organize and monitor the metrics you need without affecting other users.
Before you begin
You must be an Owner or Admin to access Analytics.
The default Overview dashboard cannot be modified. To create your own analytics views, create a Private Dashboard.
How do I open Analytics?
Navigate to Insights → Analytics.
The Overview dashboard opens automatically.
The Overview dashboard contains the standard Analytics widgets provided by Simployer One.
How do I create a custom insight?
You can create your own charts by adding a custom insight.
- Open Insights → Analytics.
- Select Add new insight.
- Select an Insight category.
- Enter a Name for the chart.
- Configure the chart settings.
- Select Save.
The new insight is added to your dashboard.
Which insight categories are available?
When creating a custom insight, you can choose from the following categories:
- Headcount
- Full-time equivalents (FTE)
- Turnover %
- Absence %
- Absence hours
- Absence days
- Joiners / Leavers

Choose the category that best represents the workforce metric you want to monitor.

The Date range determines which period is included in the chart.
For example, you might display data for:
- A specific month
- A quarter
- A year
- Another available reporting period
Changing the date range updates the chart automatically.
How does Group by work?
The Group by setting determines how data is organized within the chart.
Depending on the selected insight, data can be grouped by employees or other available dimensions.
Grouping makes it easier to compare values across your workforce.
How do filters work?
Filters allow you to focus on a specific part of your organization.
Available filters include:
- Departments
- Offices
- Teams
- Employment types
- Organizations
- Gender
- Age
You can combine multiple filters to narrow the displayed data.
For example, you could display:
- Employees in one department
- One office
- One employment type
- Employees within a specific age group
What are Additional filters?
Some insight categories provide Additional filters.
These filters allow you to further refine the displayed data depending on the selected insight.
The available options vary according to the type of insight you are creating.
How do I choose a chart type?
Analytics supports two chart types:
- Bar chart
- Line chart
Choose the chart that best represents your data.
A Bar chart is useful for comparing categories.
A Line chart is useful for showing changes over time.
You can change the chart type later if needed.
How do I edit an Analytics insight?
You can update an existing insight whenever your reporting needs change.
Open the insight and edit any of the following:
- Insight name
- Date range
- Filters
- Additional filters
- Chart type
After making your changes, select Save.
How do I rename an Analytics insight?
To rename an insight:

The new name is displayed on the dashboard immediately.
How do I delete an Analytics insight?
If an insight is no longer needed:
- Open the insight.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
The insight is permanently removed from your dashboard.
Important
Deleting an insight cannot be undone.

Private Dashboards allow you to organize related insights into separate tabs.
To create a Private Dashboard:
- Open Insights → Analytics.
- Select Edit insight.
- Select + Add New Tab next to the Overview tab.
- Enter a name for your dashboard.
- Add the insight widgets you want to display.
The new dashboard is only visible to you.

Yes.
You can create multiple Private Dashboards, allowing you to organize different types of analytics into separate tabs.
For example, you could create dashboards for:
- HR metrics
- Compensation
- Absence
- Workforce planning
This makes it easier to focus on different business areas without overcrowding a single dashboard.
Can I change the Overview dashboard?
No.
The Overview dashboard is fixed.
You cannot:

If you need a customized layout, create one or more Private Dashboards instead.
