Before you begin
- Only Owners and Admins can access Analytics.
- Only Owners can create and view Reports.
What is the difference between Analytics and Reports?

Visual charts and widgets | Row-based report data |
Real-time workforce metrics | Customizable report builder |
Personal dashboards | Excel or CSV exports |

Use Analytics when you want to monitor trends visually.
Use Reports when you need detailed data for auditing, payroll, compliance, or further analysis.
Where can I find Analytics?
Navigate to:
Insights → Analytics
The Analytics page opens with the Overview dashboard, which contains a set of predefined workforce metrics.
These widgets are fixed and cannot be removed, hidden, or rearranged.
What does the Total headcount widget show?
The Total headcount widget displays the current number of active employees in your organization.
The value is calculated using today's date.
Selecting the widget opens a detailed view showing the gender distribution of active employees.
This widget helps you quickly monitor the size of your workforce.
What does the Full-time equivalents (FTE) widget show?
The Full-time equivalents (FTE) widget calculates your workforce based on employment rate rather than the number of employees.
For example:
- Two employees working 50% each equal 1 FTE.
- One employee working 100% equals 1 FTE.
Selecting the widget displays additional information about the number of employees within different employment rate ranges.
This metric provides a more accurate picture of workforce capacity than headcount alone.
What does the Joiners / Leavers (YTD) widget show?
The Joiners / Leavers (YTD) widget shows how many employees have:
- Joined the company
- Left the company
since the beginning of the current calendar year.
YTD means Year to Date.
This widget helps you monitor workforce growth and turnover throughout the year.
What does the Average employee age widget show?
The Average employee age widget calculates the average age of all active employees.
The calculation is based on today's date and requires employees to have a value in the Date of birth field.
If employee birth dates are missing, the calculation may not reflect your entire workforce.
What does the Company average tenure widget show?
The Company average tenure widget calculates how long employees have worked for your organization.
The calculation uses each employee's first employment start date and today's date.
The total tenure is divided by the number of active employees to determine the company average.
This metric helps monitor workforce stability and employee retention.
What are custom insights?
In addition to the fixed Overview widgets, you can create your own visualizations using custom insights.
Custom insights allow you to monitor the metrics that are most relevant to your organization.
Available insight categories include:
- Headcount
- Full-time equivalents (FTE)
- Turnover %
- Absence %
- Absence hours
- Absence days
- Joiners / Leavers
- Compensation cost
Each insight can be customized with different filters, date ranges, grouping options, and chart types.
What are private dashboards?
Private dashboards provide a personal workspace where you can organize your own analytics without affecting other users.
A private dashboard allows you to:
- Create custom widgets
- Organize related insights together
- Focus on metrics relevant to your role
You can create multiple private dashboards, allowing you to separate different types of analytics into individual tabs.
Private dashboards are only visible to you.
Can I customize the Overview dashboard?
The Overview dashboard is fixed.
You cannot:
- Move widgets
- Remove widgets
- Hide widgets
If you want a customized dashboard, create one or more Private Dashboards instead.
