Configure company language settings in Employee Surveys

Modified on Wed, 26 Aug at 10:52 PM

What do the company language settings control?

Company language settings apply at the Employee Surveys account level. An Employee Surveys administrator can use these settings to define a fallback language and control how the language for survey questions is selected.

  • Default language to use when users have not chosen or their language is not supported defines the fallback language for survey questions.
  • Language used for questions determines whether Employee Surveys uses each user's chosen language or one language selected by the administrator.

Who can manage language settings in Employee Surveys?

You must be an Employee Surveys administrator to change company language settings. Managers and users cannot change these company-level settings.

How do I configure company language settings in Employee Surveys?

1.    Go to Employee Surveys > Account > then select the Company settings tab.

2.    Find the language settings.

3.    Under Default language to use when users have not chosen or their language is not supported, select a language             from the list.

4.    Under Language used for questions, choose one of the following options:

  • Use user chosen language to use each user's preferred language when it is supported.
  • Select one of the available languages from the list to use the same language for everyone.

5.    Select Save at the bottom of the Basic information section.

Expected result: Employee Surveys uses the selected company language rules for survey questions. When a user has not chosen a language, or the user's language is not supported, Employee Surveys uses the configured default language.

How do company language settings affect individual users?

A user can choose a personal Preferred language under Employee Surveys > Account > My settings tab. When Language used for questions is set to Use user chosen language, Employee Surveys uses that personal choice when the language is supported.

The company default language acts as a fallback. It does not change the language of the Employee Surveys menus and navigation. Each user controls the menu language through their personal System language setting.
