Employee Movement Widgets

What widgets are available for employee movements?

Simployer One offers two widgets for tracking employee movements:

  • Turnover % widget: Shows employee turnover as a percentage for a selected period.
  • Joiners/Leavers widget: Shows the number of employees who joined or left during a selected period.

Both widgets share the same configuration options (name, date range, category grouping, filters and chart type), but calculate and display different data. Use the sections below to configure each one.

How do I configure a Turnover % widget?

The Turnover % widget calculates turnover as the number of leavers (offboarded employees) during a period, divided by the number of active employees at the start of that period.

When you create a Turnover % widget, you can configure:

  • Name: The name displayed on the widget.
  • Date range: The period the widget shows data for.
  • Group by Category: The category used to group the data. The default is all employees.
  • Select Category items: Choose whether to include all options for the selected category or only specific ones. For example, if you group by the category Departments, you can choose to show data only for the department Frames, Wheels & Bike Service.
  • Filter: Apply additional filters to the data. For example, combined with the category example above, you could filter to show only permanent employees in the Frames, Wheels & Bike Service department.
  • Additional filter: Choose whether to include all leavers, or only leavers with a voluntary or involuntary leaving reason.
  • Chart type: Choose between a line chart or a bar chart.

The widget displays the turnover % for the selected period, grouped and filtered according to your settings, in either a line or bar chart.

How do I configure a Joiners/Leavers widget?

Joiners are identified by their hire date. Leavers are identified by their employment end date, and must also have an offboarding date set.

When you create a Joiners/Leavers widget, you can configure:

  • Name: The name displayed on the widget.
  • Date range: The period the widget shows data for.
  • Group by Category: The category used to group the data. The default is all employees.
  • Select Category items: Choose whether to include all options for the selected category or only specific ones. For example, if you group by the category Departments, you can choose to show data only for the department Frames, Wheels & Bike Service.
  • Filter: Apply additional filters to the data. For example, combined with the category example above, you could filter to show only permanent employees in the Frames, Wheels & Bike Service department.
  • Additional filter: Choose whether to include all joiners and leavers, only joiners, or only leavers with a voluntary or involuntary leaving reason.
  • Chart type: Choose between a line chart or a bar chart.

The widget displays joiners and leavers for the selected period, grouped and filtered according to your settings, in either a line or bar chart.

Pro tip: Cmd+click on an employee to open their profile in a separate tab.
