How to view, register, and export salary data in Compensation

Modified on Wed, 7 Oct at 11:25 AM

Learn how managers, employees, and compensation administrators access and manage salary data in Compensation.

The Compensation module has two relevant views for salary data. Access depends on the user's permissions.

View salary data in Salary Overview

Salary Overview gives managers insight into their employees' base salary and total compensation, including benefits.

Managers can open a detailed page that shows:

  • The specific benefits registered for each employee
  • A graph comparing the employee's salary development with the development in the department

The compensation administrator registers salary information and benefits. The compensation administrator can access Salary Overview for all employees across all departments and companies.

View salary data in My Compensation

My Compensation is available to all Simployer users who:

  • Have an active position registered under My Info > Employment
  • Have salary data registered in the Compensation module

My Compensation shows the employee's base salary and any benefits. The total annual or monthly compensation shown is the sum of the base salary and benefits.

Employees can also see their salary history if it has been registered. Salary information becomes visible as soon as salary data has been uploaded to Compensation Basic.

Register salary data manually in Salary Overview

As a compensation administrator, you can register salary data manually:

  1. Find the employee in Salary Overview
  2. Select Set Salary
  3. Enter the Salary Amount, Currency (default: NOK), Salary Period (year, month, week, day, or hour), and Effective Date
  4. Optionally, enter a reason, for example when registering a salary change

Register salary for a part-time employee

When you register salary for a part-time employee in Salary Overview, enter the salary that corresponds to a 100% position.

The salary profile then shows the full annual salary, while the employee receives the relevant share based on their position percentage. For example, an employee in a 50% position receives half of the registered amount.

Export salary data from Salary Overview to Excel

  1. Go to Salary Overview
  2. Select the circle with three dots (⋯) at the top of the page
  3. Select Export All Salaries
  4. An Excel file containing the salary overview is generated and downloaded
