New Profile Design (Manager)

Modified on Thu, 5 Jun at 9:14 AM

We’re excited to introduce our new and improved profile pages. We want to make sure that you have instant access to what you need, when you need it. In addition to a number of smaller improvements, we added two major changes:

  1. New navigation: We improved visibility and access to any information connected to an employee. You can easily switch between tabs to find sections that are connected to an employee’s profile.
  2. Overview page: We added an Overview page which highlights the most important information and events with an employee’s journey.

In this article, we'll walk you through the updated profile design specifically tailored for "Manager" roles in Simployer One.

New Navigation

Experience a smoother profile navigation with our updated design. We've redesigned the navigation interface to make it more user-friendly and intuitive, ensuring you can effortlessly access the information you need.

As a Manager you can see the following tabs connected to employees that report to you:

  • Overview
  • Profile
  • Notes
  • Documents
  • Reviews
  • Time off
  • Time reporting (only shows if employee is part of a time reporting policy)
  • Tasks

Overview Tab

This feature-rich dashboard provides comprehensive information to help manage and keep track of employees' status and relevant events within the organization. In this overview you can see various information related to an employee's status, personal details, and work-related events:

  • Presentation: Displays an employee's self-presentation, encouraging sharing of information and fun facts. The employee’s presentation now is visible to everyone within the company.
    • Note: This section will only show on the Overview if the employee has entered any content in the presentation field within the profile. Tip: make sure that your team members have added some content/information in the presentation field (profile tab) as it then will be shared/visible in the Overview.
  • Status: Indicates an employee's work status, including remote vs. at the office and working vs. time off.
  • Upcoming  Anniversary: This is shown to all in the company and represents the countdown to the next anniversary (when hovering over you can see the day and month).
  • Upcoming Birthday: This is shown to all in the company and represents the countdown to the birthday (when hovering over you can see the day and month) - this section only shows if the employee has entered the information in the profile.
  • Reports to: Shows the name and avatar of the employee's direct manager.
  • Manager of: You can now easily see  the employee's direct subordinates (the section only shows if applicable).
  • Department: Shows the name of the employee's department.
  • Office: Displays the name of the office where the employee works.
  • Upcoming Leaves: Shows up to 3 next upcoming leaves, including date/range, leave type, and status. Clicking on the icon redirects to view all upcoming time off.
  • Upcoming Reviews: Lists future employee reviews where the employee is the reviewee, with links to the review cycle overviews.
  • Absence Alert: Shows an alert for active absences, with a link to mark it as done. These alerts empower you to follow up on sick leaves and proactively address employee well-being.
  • Vacation: Displays the total number of approved vacation days for the current vacation.
  • Sick Leave: Shows the total number of sick leave occasions in the last 12 months.
  • Remote Work: This section shows the total  number of remote work occasions in the last 12 months, but only if the work from home feature is enabled.
  • Reported Time: This section shows the total reported time for the current time reporting period (weekly or monthly), but only if the employee is assigned a time reporting policy.
  • Timeline: Presents important event dates in the employee's career, including hire date, first day, employment types, change of salary (if you have relevant permission level), off-boarding date, and last day.

Other Tabs

Notes

To make your experience even better, we've moved Notes to its own tab. This dedicated space ensures your notes are organized for easy reading and navigation. Notes now have a dedicated tab in order to give notes more attention and space. For notes we now also added information about the  author's title as well as an “eye icon” which can be used to display or conceal content on the screen. Notes can be accessed by owner, admins and managers by default (as well as employees if selected) but if you are sitting in an open workspace you might want to conceal sensitive information on your screen, making sure that no one nearby can see the respective content.

Documents

We've separated Profile and Company documents for a more intuitive experience. When viewing the profile documents you'll find documents directly connected to the respective employee, while keeping company-wide shared documents separate. For easy navigation between the two sections we have added cross-reference links.

Reviews

We've relocated Employee Reviews to a dedicated section. For now we include employee reviews only, however, by separating reviews from the profile tab allows us to potentially include more information or functionality in regards to employee performance in the future.

Profile

We know that some information from an employee’s profile is needed in external documents or other systems. To make the copy & paste process a bit smoother and quicker we added a “copy” feature to the profile. You can simply click on it and the value is saved and can be pasted somewhere else.
