Create a Salary Adjustment

Modified on Mon, 18 Aug at 10:09 AM

Go to the Salary Adjustment menu item. Select Create Salary Adjustment, then enter a name for the round and a date for when the new salary should take effect. Remember to select the correct currency.

Who should be included in this salary adjustment?

You will now enter a step-by-step guide showing what needs to be done during a salary adjustment round.

Step 1 – Selection

Here, you choose which employees to include in the salary adjustment. It can be everyone in the company or only selected individuals. In the example, the company has a total of 123 employees, but 44 are not eligible for a new salary because they are not registered with a base salary in the module.

Step 2 – Exceptions

After selecting who should be part of the salary adjustment, you can exclude or include individual employees. For example, newly hired employees who should not be included in this round, or individuals not in the selected departments (if only certain departments were chosen).

Step 3 – Results Displayed in the Organization

Here you can see all departments. You can choose to display only the departments included in this salary adjustment and how many employees are in each.

Step 4 – Save Selection

Once this is done, save the selection at the bottom of the page. Only after saving can you proceed to the summary. The summary gives you an overview of who is included in this salary adjustment round.

Budgeting

Salary negotiations happen outside of Simployer. The salary adjustment is created in Simployer only once the negotiation is complete and the budget framework is known.

Step 1 – Budgeting

In the overview of the created salary adjustment, you will see the number of selected employees and their total salary value. You set the target budget either by entering a percentage or a fixed amount. Once entered, the Save button will be activated, allowing you to add the budget.

Step 2 – Allocate Budget

Click the button Allocate Budget. A page will appear where you can make an initial allocation — a suggestion for the manager. Select the relevant option and click Execute.

Step 3 – Guidelines

If desired, you can now set guidelines for this round. These will be visible to managers when they make their adjustments.

Step 4 – Save the Proposal

You can now save the budget distribution by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking the blue Save Budget Distribution button.

Step 5 – Information

If needed, you can add information for managers during the salary adjustment process. This is done under the Information menu. You can add general text, deadlines using a defined timeline, or links to external documents and resources.
When everything is ready, the salary adjustment round is launched via the Summary/Start button. When you click the Start button, an email notification will be sent to all salary-responsible managers involved in the round. They will receive a notification that a salary adjustment round has started and a direct link to the relevant round.

Get Started

It is now ready for the manager to enter new salary proposals.
