How do I set up time reporting policies in Simployer One?
Set up time reporting for your organisation, configure timesheet policies, assign employees and create projects.
Before you begin
- Time reporting is disabled by default. Contact Customer Support to enable the feature.
- Only Owners and Administrators can configure time reporting.
Create a timesheet policy
- Go to Settings → Time reporting settings.
- Click New time sheet policy.
- Complete the four setup steps.
- Click Save when finished.
Step 1 – General settings
Enter a name and description. Configure whether employees can report on projects, whether clock in/out is available, and whether employees report Start + end time or Total hours. These settings cannot be changed later.
Step 2 – Timesheet interval
Choose Weekly or Monthly reporting. Optionally enable Auto-submit. When Auto-fill before auto-submit is enabled, Simployer One pre-fills expected working hours from each employee's work schedule in their employee profile before automatically submitting the timesheet.
Step 3 – Approval and scope
Choose Manager of employee, Specific employee or No approver. If No approver is selected, submitted timesheets are approved automatically. Configure the reminder timing for approvers and assign the policy to Everyone or selected employees, teams, offices or employment types. An employee can belong to only one timesheet policy.
Step 4 – Time bank
Enable a time bank if employees should accumulate extra or negative hours. Optionally create a Flexible leave policy automatically. If no leave policy is created, employees still accumulate hours but cannot request flexible leave.
