How do I reset an employee's password in Simployer One

Modified on Tue, 25 Aug at 4:09 PM

If an employee has forgotten their password or cannot sign in, an Owner or Admin can reset the employee's password from their account settings.

After the password is reset, Simployer One sends the employee an email with a link to create a new password.

Before you begin

You must be an Owner or Admin to reset another employee's password.

The employee must have an active user account in Simployer One.

How do I reset an employee's password?

  1. Navigate to the Employee list, or use the Find colleague search in the upper-right corner.
  2. Search for and select the employee.
  3. Open the Account tab.
  4. Select Reset password.
  5. Confirm the action if prompted.

What happens after I reset a password?

After you reset an employee's password:

  • A password reset email is sent automatically.
  • The email contains a secure link for creating a new password.
  • The employee chooses their own new password.
  • Once the new password has been created, the employee can sign in using their new credentials.

What should I do if the employee does not receive the password reset email?

If the employee does not receive the email:

  • Ask them to check their Spam or Junk folder.
  • Confirm that the employee's email address is correct in Simployer One.
  • Ask the employee to wait a few minutes and check again.
  • If the email is still not received, contact Simployer Support for further assistance.

FAQs

Who can reset an employee's password?

Only Owners and Admins can reset another employee's password.

Can employees reset their own passwords?

Yes. Employees who have forgotten their password can use the Forgot password? option on the sign-in page instead of asking an administrator to reset it.

Does resetting a password create a temporary password?

No. Simployer One does not generate a temporary password. Instead, the employee receives an email with a secure link to create a new password.

What if the employee cannot find the password reset email?

First, ask the employee to check their Spam or Junk folder. If the email is still missing, verify that the correct email address is registered in Simployer One. If the issue persists, contact Simployer Support.
