What are the roles in Salary Reviews in Simployer One?
Salary Reviews use four roles to move salary proposals from planning to final approval. Each role has different responsibilities.
What does the Owner do?
Creates and configures the salary review, selects employees, assigns planners and approvers, sets budgets, configures notifications, schedules the launch, and selects the Final Approver.
What does the Planner do?
Reviews assigned employees, enters salary proposals, adds comments if needed, and submits proposals using Send to final approver.
What does the Approver do?
Reviews the Planner's proposals when the optional approver step is enabled. The Approver can approve proposals or reject them with comments so they can be revised.
What does the Final Approver do?
Reviews the completed salary review, approves or rejects planner submissions, and completes the process by selecting Update salaries.
How does the salary review workflow work?
- An Owner creates and launches the salary review.
- Planners prepare salary proposals for their assigned employees.
- If additional Approvers are enabled, they review each proposal before it continues.
- The Final Approver reviews the completed proposals.
- The Final Approver selects Update salaries to complete the review.
- New salaries become active on the activation date selected during setup. Until then, employees see a New salary tag in the Compensation section that shows both the current and upcoming salary.
FAQs
Are Approvers required?
No. The Owner can choose whether to include the additional approval step when configuring the salary review.
Can there be more than one Planner?
Yes. Employees are assigned to Planners based on the manager hierarchy, and the Owner can change individual planner assignments if needed.
