Create a CV Template

Modified on Thu, 23 Jul at 2:17 PM

The Administrate CV function allows you to create one or more CV templates that can be used when generating employee CVs. A CV template determines which information will be included in the generated CV and in what order it will appear.

To access the function, navigate to:

Competence → Administrate CV

Create a new CV template

A standard CV template is available by default.

To create an additional template:

  1. Click Add new CV.

  2. Enter a name for the new template.

  3. The template is now ready to be configured.

You can create multiple CV templates if different layouts or content are required for different purposes.

Add content to the CV

The CV elements section contains the building blocks that can be added to the template.

The available elements are:

  • Title

  • Competence

  • Competence Category

  • Personal Information

  • Position History

  • Logo and Image

Click an element to add it to the template.

The order of the elements determines how the information will be presented in the generated CV.

Tip: Use the drag handle (the six dots) on the left side of each row to change the order of the elements. The order shown in the template is the same order that will appear in the generated CV.

Add competence categories

The most common way to display competencies is by using Competence Category.

Each Competence Category displays all competencies registered within that category.

If you want multiple competence categories in the CV, add one Competence Category element for each category you want to display.

For example:

  • Courses

  • Certificates

  • Languages

  • Key Competencies

Each category is displayed as a separate section in the generated CV.

Configure each section

For every element that is added, you can configure the content using the available drop-down lists.

For Competence Categories, simply select which category should be displayed.

Configure the default CV template

The Available for employee checkbox determines which CV templates employees can use and which template is selected by default.

  • If only the Standard template is selected, the Standard template will be used automatically.

  • If both the Standard template and one or more custom templates are selected, employees can choose which template to use when generating their CV.

  • If only a custom template is selected, that template becomes the default template used when employees generate a CV.

Note: You can create multiple CV templates, but only templates marked Available for employee will be available when employees generate their own CV.

Preview the template

Click Preview CV at any time to see how the generated CV will look before making it available to users.

Tip: Keep the number of competence categories relevant. A shorter CV containing only the competencies needed for a specific purpose is often easier to read than a CV containing every registered competence.
