Use the Engagement drivers tab in Employee Surveys to understand results from the standard Engagement model when it is run as a baseline measurement or continuous measurement. The tab shows the overall engagement score, individual driver scores, trends, benchmarks, response rates, and suggested actions.
Which measurements show engagement driver results in Employee Surveys?
The Engagement drivers tab shows results from the standard Engagement model when it is run as:
- Baseline measurement: Sends all 29 Engagement model questions at once.
- Continuous measurement: Sends the 29 Engagement model questions over 4 rounds. The first round includes 8 questions, and the next 3 rounds include 7 questions each. The cycle repeats until you manually stop it.
The Engagement model measures these seven engagement drivers:
- Alignment: Belief in the organization's goals and values.
- Collaboration: A strong team spirit and well-functioning cooperation.
- Development: Fulfilment with your current job content and development opportunities.
- Leadership: Leadership capabilities and trust in your immediate manager and top management.
- Pride: The self-esteem you feel from being associated with the organization.
- Recognition: A sense of being valued.
- Well-being: Working conditions that support sustainable and healthy employment.
Important: The Engagement drivers tab only shows results from the standard Engagement model run as a baseline measurement or continuous measurement. Diagnose Engagement Drivers, Diagnose Engagement Drivers (Large), and in-depth driver pulses are available from the Pulse library, and their results are not shown in the Engagement drivers tab.

How do I open the Engagement drivers tab in Employee Surveys?

What does the Engagement Board show in Employee Surveys?
After you select a group and a week, the Engagement Board shows the overall engagement score and each engagement driver score for the selected group and chosen week in a radar table.
- Overall engagement score: The number in the circle on the left. It is the average of all individual engagement driver scores.
- Individual driver score: The average result of the four most recent question results included in that driver and asked during the past six months.
Use the options in the top-right corner of the Engagement Board to show or hide benchmarks and comparisons.
- Comparison: The arrow shows the difference between the two latest scores. For example, if the previous score was 80 and the current score is 83, the arrow shows +3.
- Internal benchmark: Based on engagement driver scores within your organization. It is available when at least 20% of all users in the account respond in the question round.
- External benchmark: Based on Engagement model data from all Simployer customers. Data must come from at least seven organizations in a given week, and the calculation uses a weighted average based on the number of respondents in each account.
The purple line shows the result for the week you are viewing.
The black line on each result bar shows the previous score. An upward arrow before the comparison number means the score has increased since the previous result. A downward arrow means the score has decreased. A value of 0 means there has been no change.
How are Engagement model benchmarks calculated in Employee Surveys?
Employee Surveys can show internal and external benchmarks for baseline and continuous Engagement model results. The two benchmarks use different data sources and calculation rules.
- Internal benchmark: The internal benchmark is based on engagement driver scores from users in your organization. Employee Surveys requires responses from at least 20% of all users in the account to calculate the internal benchmark for a question round. If fewer than 20% of users respond to the Engagement model questions in that round, no internal benchmark is available.
- External benchmark: The external benchmark is based on data from Simployer customers that use the standard Engagement model. Employee Surveys includes data from at least seven organizations in a given week to make the benchmark representative.
- External benchmark calculation: Employee Surveys calculates a weighted average based on the number of respondents in each account. For each account, the number of respondents is multiplied by the engagement score. The weighted scores from all included accounts are added together and divided by the total number of respondents across those accounts.
