Review lifecycle and status

Can I change the launch date after publishing a salary review?

Yes, but only if the salary review hasn't started yet. If the review's status is NOT STARTED, the Owner can reschedule the launch date at any time.

Can I edit or delete a completed salary review?

No. Once a salary review reaches COMPLETED status, it becomes a read-only archive. You cannot modify or delete it.

Can I delete a salary review that's in draft or already active?

Yes. The Owner can delete a salary review while it's in DRAFT, NOT STARTED, or ACTIVE status.

Roles and permissions in salary reviews

Can the Owner make changes during an active salary review?

Yes. At any point during an active salary review, the Owner can:

  • Replace a Planner, Approver, or Final Approver
  • Update salaries directly, bypassing the approval chain entirely

What happens if a Planner is replaced during an active salary review?

The new Planner takes over all of the previous Planner's employees, including any salary proposals that were already entered. No proposal data is lost during the replacement.

Can one person be both the Planner and the Approver in a salary review?

Yes. Simployer One supports assigning the same person as both Planner and Approver. This works for organizations where a single individual manages and approves salary reviews, so a separate approver isn't required.

Entering salary data

Can a Planner submit a salary proposal if some employees are missing a salary value?

No. Every employee in the Planner's group must have a salary increase entered before the Planner can submit their proposal.

How does multi-currency support work in salary reviews?

A salary review uses a single base currency overall, but individual employees can have salaries recorded in different local currencies. The system stores both the local currency value and the base currency value, using pre-defined exchange rates.

How is a salary increase calculated in a salary review?

A Planner can enter a salary increase as either a fixed amount or a percentage. The system automatically calculates and stores both values.

Example: A current salary of €9,999/month with an increase of €501 results in a new salary of €10,500/month (equivalent to +5.01%).

Will I lose entered data if I switch between tabs in the salary review interface?

No. Any data you enter in the salary review interface is preserved when you navigate between tabs.

Comments and visibility

Who can see comments in a salary review?

Comment visibility is scoped by level:

  • Planner level: Visible to the Planner and their assigned Approver.
  • Approver level: Shared between the Approver and the Final Approver.
  • Owners and Final Approvers: Have full visibility across all comment levels.

Notifications

Can Planner and Approver notifications be scheduled at different times?

Yes. Notifications for Planners and Approvers can be scheduled independently. This is configured in the Notifications tab of the salary review.

Can I edit the content of notification emails?

Yes. You can customise the subject line and message body for each notification directly within the module. Changes save automatically.
