Why does an employee appear under two different units in reports?

Modified on Thu, 1 Oct at 1:02 PM

Learn why an employee’s profile affiliation and position unit can produce different results in reports.

Which units are registered for an employee?

Two registrations affect where an employee appears:

  • On the profile page, Affiliation determines which unit the employee belongs to
  • On the employment page, the unit is linked to the employee’s position

Affiliation and the unit linked to the position should normally be the same, but exceptions may occur.

Why can reports show an employee under different units?

If Affiliation and the unit linked to the position differ, reports may place the employee under different units:

  • An address report uses the unit registered under Affiliation
  • A sickness absence report uses the unit linked to the position

The sickness absence report uses the position unit because all sickness absence calculations, including person-days and employment percentage, are linked to the position.
