Norwegian Sick Leave Reporting

Modified on Fri, 20 Mar at 9:43 AM

Introduction

The Norwegian Sick Leave Report helps HR and administrators generate sick leave data required for statutory reporting in Norway. The report uses absence data registered in Simployer One, allowing you to generate reports directly in the system without exporting data to external tools.

You can customize the report by selecting:

  • Leave types
  • Departments
  • Reporting year

Reports are generated in the background and can be downloaded once processing is complete.

Generate a Norwegian Sick Leave Report

How to request a report

  1. Navigate to the Reportis tab, and switch to "Template Reports" tab in Simployer One.
  2. Select the Norwegian Sick Leave Report.
  3. Configure the report parameters:
    • Leave types to include
    • Departments (optional)
    • Year (If the current year is selected, the report includes data from 1 January up to the current date. For example, a report for 2026 generated on 12 March will include data from 1 January to 12 March).Reports for past years include the full year, covering all months and days.
  4. Start the report generation.

The report will be placed in a queue and processed in the background.

Report Status

After requesting a report, the system processes it asynchronously. The report will move through the following statuses:

  • Queued : The report request has been created and is waiting to be processed.
  • Processing : The report is currently being generated.
  • Completed: The report has been successfully generated and is available for download.
  • Failed: The report generation failed. The report can be retried, but partial data cannot be downloaded.

Users do not need to remain on the page while the report is being processed.

Configure Report Content

Leave Types

The report supports both standard and custom leave types.

If your organisation uses custom leave types, they can be included and mapped in the report configuration. This ensures that absence data is calculated correctly in the report output.

Department Filtering

Reports can be filtered by department.

  • If no department is selected, the report includes data for the entire company.
  • If specific departments are selected, the report includes data only for those departments.

Sub-departments are not automatically included when selecting a department.

Download Options

When requesting a report, the following download options are available:

  • File format: Excel or PDF
  • Data aggregation: Monthly or quarterly
  • File language: Norwegian or English

Not all combinations of configuration options may be available.

Reuse a Previous Report as a Template

If you frequently generate reports with the same configuration, you can reuse an existing report as a template.

Steps

  1. Locate a previously generated report in the report list.
  2. Open the context menu (three dots) next to the report.
  3. Select Use as template.
  4. A new report configuration dialog will open with the previous settings prefilled.
  5. Adjust the parameters if needed and generate the report.

This allows you to quickly create new reports without repeating the full configuration.

Summary
The Norwegian Sick Leave Report allows HR and administrators to generate statutory sick leave reports directly in Simployer One.

You can customize reports using different parameters, generate them in the background, and download them once completed. Support for custom leave types, department filtering, and reusable templates makes it easier to create reports that fit your organisation’s needs.
